To look up something means to search something or do research on and to look at something means physically to view something with your eyes

@dimonovic12n well, yes but if you are trying to use the term “look” in a physical way like with your eyes then you would say “look up at” like “look up at the stars”, but if you want to use the term look in a way that means you searched something online or did research on something then you would just say “look up” for example, “I will look up how to bake cookies online later”
