O que significa Somehow when I thought you hated the touch of women, I assumed it was okay. ?

(At a gay bar, a nice guy gave a woman a piece of advice that helped her a lot. She was so touched that she hugged him.)

Woman: (hugging him) Whoa. <sniffs> Oh my God, you smell so good. This means so much coming from a super-hot gay guy.

Guy: Oh, thank you. I'm not gay.

(pause)

Woman: I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize for the smelling and the groping.
Somehow when I thought you hated the touch of women, I assumed it was okay.

Is the woman saying that she thought it would be okay to hug and smell him when she was convinced that he didn't like the touch of women because it's not like sexual harrassment??

@Jun24: I think your initial guess was pretty much right. She's saying 'I thought it was ok because I thought you were gay, and therefore the touching wasn't romantic/sexual'.

The 'Somehow' at the beginning of the sentence is clarifying that she now understands that it wasn't ok, even if he had been gay (which is why she's apologizing). Implied is "somehow i assumed [something], i don't know how i thought that, i'm so sorry"; that sort of meaning.

I don't think it's a sexual harassment. I mean, to approach some stranger, you gotta have at least some trust or be cautious of what you are doing. Also, I understand that the guy don't like to be touch but I think the girl was just very emotional and like to show that and ended up smelling the guy while hugging him....

Actually, I jsut wanted to know the meaning of the last sentence:
"Somehow when I thought you hated the touch of women, I assumed it was okay."

I made my question too long in order to give people the context.
