@nana001 they are both controlled by electricity, yes. If a refrigerator is plugged in and functioning, it is “on” or “turned on”. But if you were to look inside the refrigerator, you would have to “open” the door of the refrigerator to look inside.
It would depend on what context the words are used in.
In my opinion, if something is being controlled by electricity, I would use “turn on”. Like when I press a button on a remote control to turn on a TV... I am not in control of how the TV turns on.
But when using physical action as control, I would use “open”. For example, I use my hands to turn a lid on a jar to open it. Or I use my hands to turn a knob and open a door.

@RedsLearning why open the refrigerator while turn on the TV,in my opinion,regrigerator is similar with tv,which were both controlled by electricity.
