Both are used, you can use either of them. For example "Have you eaten dinner?" "have you had dinner?" Both questions are asking if the person has consumed dinner.

I feel like it varies from person to person almost interchangeably, or depending on the situation.
Strangely a conversation like this wouldn’t be unusual, at least not in the New York City area
“What did you have for dinner?”
“Nothing, I didn’t eat dinner yet”
