yes, Spanish speakers get confused very easy. I don't have any idea why. my friends always do that

an example of that is, I'm trying to get answers about @booklife4life explanation on "si te digo/dije comer" translated from "isf I tell/told you TO eat"
I'm quite sure it's not correct (I think)

as you can see, the girl had corrected at least the verb "dije" but let the phrase as it was. that was exactly what I'm looking for answers. and yes, if it not correct, when(native) didn't even realize it

for me, as I said, saying "si te dije/digo comer" there's no sense. for me it would be "si te digo PARA comer / si te digo QUE coma / (or) si te digo PARA QUE comer
