You could say “last week was a lot of fun”

I thought:
last week=the week before this past Sunday
the last/past week=the 7 days previous to today
So I'm confused now...

@junwei oh actually you’re correct. Sorry, I was confused about what you were trying to say. If you want to refer to the week before it has ended you should call it “the past week”. I guess you can also call it “the last week”, but I think “the past week” is more common
