@joanna1626. Thanks a lot. Nice examples. Also, thank you soo much for the word "skyscrapers", I never heard this word before.
- Inglês (EUA)
You're welcome @Felipeoutb: Skyscrapers is a cool word, very descriptive on how tall the buildings are, as if they touch or scrape the sky ☺️

@joanna1626, thank you again. Another word to learn: scrape. In my native language we use "arranha-ceú", very close to "skyscraper" and with the same idea.
- Português (Brasil)
@joanna1626 , how do you use "scrape" in a sentence? Could be something like this: "That car almost scraped that another one"? Or: "He scraped the fresh paint of her car"?
- Inglês (EUA)
Yes those are both correct uses for "scraped." You could also say "The ladder he was carrying scraped along the sidewalk." Or "I fell and scraped my knee!" The only thing that can't be said is Skyscraped because that's not a word. 😋

@joanna1626, nice. Maybe I cannot be your roommate, but I going to be fluent in English. Thank you again, I appreciate the help.

Oops sorry, I meant to say he was native Portuguese but now he speaks fluent English! Sometimes we'd be talking and he'd suddenly start speaking in Portuguese because he was thinking out loud really fast. It was fun. If you move to the US, there are many job opportunities for bilingual speakers!

@joanna1626, no problem. Thank you again. But, I have another question if you don't mind: the things that you know or are in your CV they (employer) take serious? I mean, if a person is graduated in math for example, he/she can get a job in his/her area or not?
- Inglês (EUA)
In America, we call a CV "a resume" (but my friends in Europe call it a CV) Yes, employers take resumes seriously and consider them when hiring people. My Brazilian friend graduated college in Chemistry and now he works for a very reputable pharmaceutical company making medicines.

@joanna1626, I asked that because I read something talking about when you arrive at some country and you don't know the local language, your chances to get a job compatible with your resume are less than if you speak the local language. And, like you said, it's true, right?
- Inglês (EUA)
Yeah, you'll wanna speak the local language along with a foreign language in order to have the best job possibilities.

@joanna1626, also, I bet when he start from nowhere talking in Portuguese make you feel scary, kkkk. I understand that, it occurs to everyone that starts to talk in a foreign language.
A couple of days before, a friend of company asked me: "Felipe, your English's skills are going well? If I say something to you in Portuguese then you translate to English? Then I said: "Let's try" And after that, he was mute, and after some seconds he said: "No, who ensure that you aren't swearing me?" Then I laughed and some others friend of work were mute too.

Hahaha your friends must think that you are a jokester! My friend used to teach me some Portuguese but then he would tell me "Never say that to anyone, it's a bad word!"

@joanna1626 , kkkk, yes. I know some swear words in English and Finnish. But I'm not used (and also, I'm not a fan) of saying this kinda thing. But once day a friend of my swore me, and when I found him, I said to him: "Hey chomp!" But He doesn't made any idea of what I said, kkkkk.
