When you say "Only on Sundays would David go to the park" it implies David would only consider going to the park on Sundays or that the only possibility of David being at the park is if it's a Sunday.

I believe the words "occasion" and "time" refers to the occurrences of some action or event. Using the example from Merriam-Webster, "Sometimes I go out for lunch, but most of the time I bring my own lunch to work", time refers to the instances in which the speaker "eats lunch".

I will add that "occasion" makes you think the the actions or events are rare. Also I believe you will hear people use "most of the time" in casual conversations more than you will "on most occasions".

"Formal occasions are special occasions at which people wear smart clothes and behave according to a set of accepted rules."

(This is a definition of the word "formal" in Collins English dictionary for learners.)
A: This isn't a general rule because there are several ways you could use it, but "on" would be used with the purpose of the occasion, while "at" would be used with the actions people do when they are at the location of the occasion

Q: It's hardly likely there will be many occasions when I see you. soa natural?
A: I’d phrase it as: “It’s likely there won’t be many occasions when I’ll be able to see you.” or “It’s likely there won’t be many occasions when we’ll be able to meet.”

We probably wouldn’t use “hardly likely”, but if you would like to negate “likely”, you can change it to “unlikely”. Then the sentence would read: “It’s unlikely there will be many occasions when I’ll see you.” or “It’s unlikely there’ll be many chances to see you.”

“Occasions” is used, but “chances” is a lot more common.
