A: Although... it sounds weird to say “long-term friendship” tbh. I’ve never heard someone refer to a friendship as long-term, only relationships. Are you not friends anymore? Because if you say “It was” in the past I assume you’re not anymore. Maybe you could say “He/She was an old friend of mine” or “He/She was a longtime friend of mine”
