The slang meaning of "hump" is the only one I think of when I hear "hump day", and I honestly didn't know why Wednesday was called that until you just explained it! I just assumed there was some weird historical tradition to do with Wednesdays in America, but "getting over the hump of the week" makes a lot more sense than whatever I was imagining 😅
