Questions about example sentences with, and the definition and usage of "Help"

The meaning of "Help" in various phrases and sentences

Q: O que significa what does the "I could have with some help this morning "mean??
A: used to ask where someone put something.

What did you do with the keys?
Q: O que significa I would help you but I don't want do?
A: @xxxai 「I would help you but I don't want to」です。
Q: O que significa We were raised to never admit to needing help.?
A: The "to" in this sentence is a preposition. The verb "to admit" takes gerunds (I think that is the same as what you call a verbal noun) not verbs.
As for your two sentences, the first one is incorrect, the second is fine, with pretty much the same meaning but a minor difference in tense.
There is a lot more detailed explanation here about the grammar in here if you'd like to read more: https://www.quora.com/How-do-I-remember-the-rule-a-gerund-used-after-‘to’-i-e-when-to-use-ing-form-after-to
Q: O que significa can't help but think ?
A: “I can't help but think she is lying".

This means, because of the situation, I almost have to think she is lying.

So yes, 'it's difficult for me to think she is telling the truth' is close to the same meaning. [ 'it's difficult for me to think otherwise'. ]
Q: O que significa "Oh,help and bother!"?
A: I just looked it up. Oh bother is an old form of the expression oh, brother.

Synonyms of "Help" and their differences

Q: Qual é a diferença entre But for your help, e Without your help ?
A: Both are talking about something that would not have happened, if the help had not been given. The meaning is the same, but the usage is a little bit different.

(your friend helps you study for the test)
"But for your help, I would have failed" is OK
"Without your help, I would have failed" is OK

(but if you are asking a question, it's different)
"How can I pass the test without your help?" is OK
"How can I pass the test, but for your help?" is unnatural

So, "without your help" is more common, and works in most situations.
"But for your help" is less common, and means that the *only* thing that made me pass the test was your help. Without the help, I *absolutely* would have failed.
Q: Qual é a diferença entre help e assistance ?
A: They are basically the same thing. You can either ask someone for their help or assistance with homework, a chore, etc.
Q: Qual é a diferença entre help e help out ?
A: "Help" basically means to give assistance with a specific problem. "Can you help me clean the room?"

"Help out" is more generally assistance in solving whatever problem has occurred. "My room was an absolute mess, but he helped me out."

The usage is a little bit different. "He helped clean the room" versus "He helped out with cleaning the room."
Q: Qual é a diferença entre could you help me e could you help me out ?
A: I think both are the same.
but It sounds like "Could you help me out?" calls more to immediate action than "Could you help me?"
Q: Qual é a diferença entre help e help out ?
A: 1. Anything (people, animals, objects, etc) can "help." Usually only people can "help out."
2. "Help out" generally refers to the act of helping. It doesn't specify what a person helped to do.
3. Usually you can replace "help out" with "help," but you cannot replace "help" with "help out."

「〜することを手伝ってくれますか。」
"Can you help me (do something)?" = Correct
"Can you help me out (do something)?" = Wrong

「お手伝いできることがあれば、お知らせください。」
"Let me know if you need me to help out" = Correct
"Let me know if you need me to help" = Correct

Other questions about "Help"

Q: Can you please help me interpret the role that the particle "down" is playing in some phrases? (details down below)
A: @Igna07

1) using "down" adds more emphasis. You are correct that it is repetitive, but as you know language is often sloppy.

2) There is no significant difference in meaning if you omit "down."

Having grown up with English, and while learning Spanish and Thai, I've learned that language is not always clean and precise. I think the use of "down" in your two examples is an example of "inefficient" but common language.
Q: Please help me
A: @Hwan_nn

Because it is in the conditional form – as soon as he has.

This does not mesh with the past tense form in the second clause.

"As soon as certain conditions are met, something that already happened in the past will happen" – this is total nonsense
Q: Please help me. D makes most sense to me, but I'm not sure I fully get the meaning.
A: (B. it to you to have) is correct.

"Leave it to you to___" is to expect someone to do something.

For example, 'Leave it to you to make a mess of your room' would imply the subject "you" often makes a mess.

Try to think of "Leave it to you to___" as a verb phrase in itself, instead of incorporating the verb 'to leave' (E.g.: Leave the room).
