Synonyms of "Dusk" and their differences

Q: Qual é a diferença entre dusk e twilight e nightfall e crepuscule e half-light ?
A:
Dusk is before sunset (Example: At dusk, I read my favorite book beside the seashore.)

I think of twilight as before midnight, so the sky is like a dark blue (Example: I stared out my window into the twilight.)

Nightfall is when it becomes night (The wolves rested until nightfall, when they got up to hunt.)

That is my understanding of the words.
Q: Qual é a diferença entre dusk e twilight e nightfall e crepuscule e half-light ?
A: The evening TWILIGHT begins when the sun dips below the horizon (SUNSET) and ends when it reaches 18° below the horizon signalling the beginning of night (NIGHTFALL). Twilight is split into three stages. The third stage is the darkest called DUSK.

CREPUSCULE is a less used variant of twilight. (I don’t think I’ve heard of this term)

HALF-LIGhT occurs when a room is half as bright or grey dim light and supposedly during some point in the twilight zone likely at dawn and dusk.

DAWN (opposite of dusk) starts when light appears in the atmosphere during the first stage of morning twilight. AKA DAYBREAK.
Q: Qual é a diferença entre dusk e nightfall ?
A: 'dusk' and 'sundown' are the same. 'nightfall' might come a little later when it is darker.
Q: Qual é a diferença entre dusk e nightfall ?
A: They mean the same, both are around the time of the sun setting
Q: Qual é a diferença entre dusk e twilight ?
A: Twilight is when the sun is below the horizon, but you can still see the light from it. A picture shows it best: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Baker_beach_at_twilight_41.jpg

Dusk is the darkest part of twilight right before it really becomes night and is the last bit of light left. th00.deviantart.net/images/PRE/i/2003/6/a/a/Dusk_-_City_Silhouette.jpg

Honestly people use them both to mean that time of day right after the sun has just set.

However, twilight can also mean the time in the morning right before the sun rises. Dawn is the point in the morning when twilight begins.

Other questions about "Dusk"

Q: dusk = sunset
dawn = sunrise
twilight = both

If something above is not correct, please correct it.
If everything is correct, please tell me if some expression would sound odd or too poetic to use in daily life. Should you stick to "sunrise" and "sunset"? Would it sound too pretentious to use one of the other words?
A: https://www.weather.gov/fsd/twilight

"twilight is the period of time before sunrise and after sunset, in which the atmosphere is partially illuminated by the sun, being neither totally dark or completely lit"

Por ejemplo "A tear kissed the surface of my jagged skin as I somberly watched the faded outline of the love of my life drift off into the mesmerizing twilight" 'pinta una imagen mental' mucho mejor que "I cried as I saw him/her leave"

Oh y recomiendo "sunrise/sunset" porque "dusk/dawn" se usan menos frecuente (las dos suenan un poco poéticas)

¡Espero que todo esto te ayude!
