Q:
Qual é a diferença entre The main cannon was deflected. e The main cannon was repelled. ?
A:
I personally don't like either.
What is deflected is a cannon shell. When a shell hits an armor plate at a high angle, it may change the trajectory - it will be deflected.
If after the impact the projectile goes roughly in the direction where it came from it will be called "ricochet" or "bounce".
I don't think "repel" is used a lot when it comes to cannons.
