A: haha, thanks. I'm not an English teacher, but I studied English Literature in undergrad and I go to graduate school for something related. Btw, that's a very natural use of "to have something down"! 👍

I assume you know that those expressions all come from the use of "trip" for being on psychedelic drugs. So all these expressions can mean being or feeling like you're on drugs.

"to trip (out)" has the different meanings of "to react with extreme emotion like anger or worry; to be or act crazy." Also "to trip out" means "to feel very unsettled or creeped out."

"to trip someone out" has the different meanings of "to freak someone out (make them feel unsettled or creeped out); to amuse or perplex someone." Eg. "that guy has the best jokes -- he trips me out!"

"to get someone tripping" has the meanings of "to freak someone out; to make someone angry; to make someone feel attracted/fall in love." You might often hear "you got me trippin'" or "her body got me trippin'" in songs. It seems to imply (to me) that the singer is really attracted, but perhaps slightly conflicted/confused over their attraction?

To be honest, I find these slang uses of "trip" ambiguous and hard to pin down. So if you are confused by the differences, don't worry too much. Lol.
