Q:
Qual é a diferença entre accent e dialect ?
A:
For example, in English there is a (general) British accent and there's a (general) American accent, which are different in the sense that pronunciation is different overall, but speakers with both accents can understand each other with little difficulty.
Different dialects of a language, on the other hand, may not be understood by all speakers of that language. For example in Chinese, we have Mandarin (which is the official language of China) and dialects like Cantonese. People who only speak Mandarin cannot understand with Cantonese speakers in general.
There's a well-known saying: "A language is a dialect with an army and a navy."

Como é que se diz isto em Inglês (EUA)? Where can I learn some natural English accents?
A:
I think Youtube tutorials of actual English people can help for beginners. Although you need to know what regional accent you want to learn since it differs greatly from one to another. As far as I know, there is not a single British accent.
Also, if you can, immerse yourself in a place or group of people who are knowledgeable with the accent you're trying to learn.

I am desperately trying to reduce my accent. I read books out loud for 3 hours everyday with Audio books. Please give me any advice I can work on.
soa natural?

A:
Your English is very good. While I’m not sure how to reduce your accent, I can point out some things I noticed.
- Some of your words sound muddled together. Two separate words blended into one on some occasions.
- You’re not pronouncing all of the correct sounds in some of the worlds. An example is how you pronounce international.
- The inflections of your voice are incorrect or sometimes non-existence. (To be honest it sounded rather monotone at times)
I think that because you are reading you hesitate and rush at points. Sometimes it’s easier to show how you truly sound when you’re talking freely/comfortably.
I’d read the section out loud but I can only record 10 second long audios.

I think you need to pay attention more to the accent syllables in English. What I would do is listen to a sentence from a movie and repeat it as exactly as you can with the same timing and rhythm. This is very difficult, but you can do it. :) Your English is already really amazing!
One of the words I noticed was "regime". You say, "radjim" when you should say "rayjeem" (this word comes from French, so it is pronounced differently)

I think you did a great job, i think the main thing you can work on is the way your "r" sounds. i'm not trying to be rude or anything 😅 try choosing words like "world" "work" or "soldiers" and keep on repeating them until the r sounds more "american". I also catch myself once in a while having this accent on my Rs cause i study Korean and I often mix their sounds but when i do this exercise of repeating the words with Rs it goes away. hope this helps and ask me anything if you wanna 😊
