"Oh, no problem, as you know 'the flower' has no back or front!" :)
(In this way they resemble us like a flower! and that's kind of flattering to hear.)
What do you say in this situation? ( I need to know the first sentence you use for appologizing and what is said in reply.)
I have found "pardon my back", but I'm not sure if it would have the same connotation with "pardon that my back is to you" in Farsi.
I haven't found anything as a reply.

We don't have a similar expression in the US, because it's not customary. The elderly tend to be seated at places of prominence with the rest of the adults, all facing each other in some way, and kids usually get their own seating. Sorry that I couldn't be of more help. Maybe someone else has some thoughts on this.
If my back was to someone important, I would probably apologize for "not seeing them".... and either ask them to come sit with us, or make small talk. It's just an unusual situation to be in, in the US, unless you're at a wedding or something, and your back is facing many relatives that you respect. Though, having your back turned to someone is not rude in our culture, so it's not really taboo to be seated in such a way, nor something we'd apologize for. I'm sorry!
